"It is better to create than to learn! Creating is the essence of life." - Julius Caesar
Have you ever thought of yourself as not being creative? Have you ever questioned your talent or your capability for developing ideas? Don't worry, it might not be your fault. Our research shows that the organization you work in, influences to a great deal your creative output.
Surprisingly only 6.4 percent of jobholders do have their best ideas at work. That's one result of the IQudo idea generation survey we took in April, 2010. People are stressed in the cubicle, distracted or do feel that creativity is not their business.
Every person does have unique talents. The right corporate culture helps you to discover what ONLY you can do best. Here are two ideas that boost your creative thinking and the creative culture within every department of the organization.
The IQudo idea generation survey found out, that almost half of all ideas [47.87%] arise at home. While relaxing on the sofa or having a shower or being on the toilet we are inventive. Those activites do have one thing in common: at home we feel safe and secure. Quite the contrary is what we feel on the job. The cubicle is seen as a highly stressful place to be and is therefore very hostile for creative thinking. Have a look on how some of the most innovative companies like Facebook, Google, Pixar or Nendo have designed their workspace to inspire their staff and make people feel at home: >>Creative Office Design
The most fluffy environment will not do, if someone is undermining your position. You won't feel safe if you do not like the people you are surrounded with. If you do not have trust in the group, it is unlikey that you will move off the beaten track and present some crazy ideas. Right?! Those ideas might be thrown against you. An ill-disposed guy may call you childish or not competent enough for your job. It's quite risky to present unsual ideas. Only trust in your peers will make you open up. That is why we focus in our creative training not only on developing ideas but as well take responsibility in building up a team-minded group.
