Where do ideas arise and why not while being at work?Only 6.4 percent find their best ideas at work.
The goal of the study was to identify places and activities where people do have their best ideas. Surprisingly not at work. Only 6.4 percent of the respondents had ideas in the workplace. We were interested to know why people did not have ideas at work. We interviewed 534 men and women between 18 and 65 years in Stuttgart, Germany.
Question 1: Where do you have your best ideas? Most frequent answers:
47.9% at recreation, 24.1% at sports, 6.4% at work
Question 2: What prevents you from being creative at work?
36,7% too much stress, 23,5% no privacy, too much distraction, 14,5% innovation and creativity is not requested, 9.3% work kills creativity

The goal of the study was to identify places and activities where people do have their ideas. Surprisingly not at work. Only 7 percent of the respondents had ideas in the workplace. We were interested to know why people did not have ideas at work. We interviewed 150 men and women between 18 and 60 years in Stuttgart, Germany.
Question 1: Where do you have your best ideas? Most frequent answers:
38% at recreation
26% at sports
7% at work
4% while having sex
Question 2: What prevents you from being creative at work?
33% too much stress
25% no privacy, too much distraction
15% innovation and creativity is not requested.
4% work kills creativity
We are going to proceed with this study to obtain a deeper understanding on the issue and to receive statistical relevant results.
